Javelina and wild hogs are not the same. On average, javelina get no taller than knee high on an adult human. They are vegetarians, usually hang out in small family groups and, in the past, have been used for food by many in South Texas. Frequently there is a limit on hunting them.

Wild Hogs are omnivourious and have only humans as an enemy. They can weigh over 300 pounds. The female may bear 3 litters a year with 8-10 in a litter. There are no limits on hunting wild hogs and their meat is lean after the outer layer of fat is removed.

It is a myth that the number of rattles tells the age of the snake. Some in South Texas say that rattlesnakes could be used for rodent eradication, but they are also known to kill rabbits, quail, frogs and other small beneficial creatures by swallowing them whole and letting them be broken down by the snake’s body juices.
Even if a creature survives a rattlesnake bite their flesh rots off in a large area around the bite. Rattlesnakes come in a variety of colors depending on your part of the country.
It is safer to GET A CAT for rodent eradication. They are not as lethal to dogs, other cats, cows, horses, and humans as rattlesnakes.
